In Edit Mode: Mesh -> Vertices -> Rasterize

With Rasterize you can align your mesh according to a reduced set of raster points inĀ  3D space. The raster width is dependent on the actual bounding box size of the object. The number of raster points along all axes of the bounding box is always the same and can be chosen as a power of 2 number.

Actually in the Operator panel we can set the “bit Depths” of the raster, where the default bit depth of 8 matches the Grid for Sculpted Prims (256 raster points along each axis).
