Export to Collada and glTF — in one go!
This add-on was built to support Linden Lab’s request for test data: export your rig once and get both Collada (.dae) and glTF (.glb) files side by side — no extra setup, no hassle.
Designed for fast and consistent exports, with default settings tailored for Second Life compatibility. Feedback is welcome!
The Original message from the Second Life Discord content chat:
We’re currently working through some issues with GLTF rigged mesh. So this is an open call to provide rigged meshes! Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Meshes must be rigged. Don’t send us unrigged items at this stage please – those don’t really help us.,
- Keep it simple: full avatars are great, but please do not send things that have onion layers or what have you. You may merge avatars into a singlular mesh with rigging – that would be preferred. This is to simplify debugging on our end.,
- We need everything from the most basic avatar mesh to complex bento, fitted, etc. meshes.,
- Clothes and animesh too!,
- They MUST be exported as glTF, AND COLLADA/DAE. We want both so we can A/B test these things.,
Generally the simpler the better at this stage. We don’t really care about materials or UVs at this point. We’re only testing and debugging skinning. Do not send original blender files – we don’t want those. Exports only please. Please send your files to gltf@lindenlab.com.
